By accessing or using the PaperStack API (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free-tier users and paid subscribers.
2. Description of Service
PaperStack provides programmatic access to structured exam data for Indian competitive examinations via RESTful APIs. The Service includes access to question papers, answer keys, topic tags, and diagram images for exams including but not limited to NEET UG, JEE Main, and JEE Advanced.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By accepting these Terms, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.
4. Accounts and API Keys
Access to the Service requires registration and an API key.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key.
You may not share, sublicense, or distribute your API key to third parties.
You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your key.
We reserve the right to revoke or rotate keys at any time for security reasons.
Free-tier keys are subject to rate limits and usage caps as described on our website.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying data pipeline.
Bypass or circumvent rate limits, authentication mechanisms, or access controls.
Use the Service to build a competing data product that redistributes our raw datasets.
Submit false or misleading information during registration.
Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or bulk extract data beyond documented API limits.
6. Data License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, PaperStack grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the data provided through the Service for your internal business purposes, educational applications, and product development.
You may not:
Redistribute our datasets as standalone data products.
Sublicense, sell, or commercially exploit the raw data without prior written consent.
Remove, obscure, or alter any attribution, copyright, or license notices.
The underlying exam data is sourced from official publications. Individual question papers may be subject to additional licensing terms as indicated in each dataset'sprovenance.license field.
7. Rate Limiting and Fair Use
The Service enforces rate limits to ensure stability for all users. Sandbox-tier users are limited to 1 request per second and 500 requests per month. Higher limits are available on paid plans (Creator Pack, Institute Scale, Platform Edge). We reserve the right to adjust these limits with reasonable notice. Excessive or abusive usage may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.
8. Service Availability
We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. Paid plans may include SLAs as specified in your subscription agreement.
9. Intellectual Property
The PaperStack name, logo, brand assets, and API design are our intellectual property. The data pipeline, extraction methodology, and schema design are proprietary. This Agreement does not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperStack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the data is error-free or that the Service will meet your requirements.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Service immediately ends. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 shall survive termination.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
